A general meeting of the MARINA Administrative Group was called to check on the status of the preparations made for the hosting of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) Conference on the Enhancement of Safety of Ships Carrying Passengers On Board Non-International Voyages this April 24th at the Philippine International Convention Center.
Chaired and presided by MARINA Deputy Director for Administration Gloria J. Victoria-Bañas, each member of the group assigned to perform and complete preparation requirements were given time to report on achievements and challenges that are needed to be immediately addressed during the meeting.
“It is important that you voice out what seems to you as challenges now for this is the only time we can deal with them,” Atty. Victoria-Bañas advised everyone in attendance. She added that any incident that will result from any lack of attention on the challenges identified will fall under the jurisdiction of the sub-committee assigned.
Status reports of every sub-committee were heard and dealt with while appropriate solutions were recommended, especially those calling for proper guidance and coordination with other agencies of government.
The meeting was held at the Board Room, 11 a.m., April 7th.
